The subject of the Dissertation concerns fundamental or applied research and is supervised by one member of staff of the Department. The student can choose the scientific field in which he/she wants to work in collaboration with the Department’s lecturers. The duration of this work is at least one academic semester.

The Dissertation Thesis is a means of understanding the Scientific Method. In the final thesis project, the student is asked to identify a scientific question, to formulate some hypotheses that explain it, confirm or reject them on the basis of methodological analysis, and evaluate the overall approach.

The main contents of the final thesis document that is submitted are: 1) a brief introduction to the scientific subject, 2) a description of the methods, 3) results, 4) interpretation and evaluation of the findings of the research, and 5) bibliography.
