As a scientific discipline will provide the student with the necessary knowledge so as to be capable of carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies, assess environmental terms, supervise the EIA study and also be able to evaluate an EIA. Lecturing includes presentation of the necessary legal framework, presentation of a number of EIA studies as well as specific EIA studies. Specific legislation such as biodiversity, specific wetland environments and protection of biota (Directive Natura 2000) have also been included as they form a potential part of their future professional activities. Specific subjects such as monitoring practices, noise pollution and socio – economic impacts are also part of the curriculum.
